Searching 

Our notion of space is essentially influenced by our notion of surface and vice versa; i.e. surface and space define each other, cannot be imagined separately from each other. In addition, there is light and colour, which emotionally charge and challenge our perception.

In my artistic work I am particularly interested in the “border zone” between surface, space and colour: when does a surface become spatial and when does a body become planar? And what role does colour play in this?

The means are given to me: Line – surface – space – light – colour.

1986   Fromotional award from the state of Rhineland-Palatinate

1987   Teaching contract at California State University, Chico, CA., USA

1988   First prize, promotional award for young artists from Saar-Ferngas   AG, Saarbrücken; ESWE art award for sculpture in Wiesbaden (third prize)

1989   Promotional booth at the International Art Fair ART Cologne, (with Galerie Dorothea van der Koelen)

1990  ESWE art award for graphic art in Wiesbaden (second prize)

1996   Teaching contract at California State University, Chico, CA., USA; Large-scale sculpture: offenes Quadrat / Open Square, Sculpture-Path Rhineland-Palatinate

1998  Balmoral Grant  from the Cultural Foundation of the State of Rhineland-Palatinate

1999  Design of a wall for the conference room in the service centre of the Nassauische Sparkasse, Wiesbaden

2000  Large-scale sculpture Labyrinth, elementary school Mainz-Bretzenheim, Küferweg, Mainz; Large-scale sculpture Maze, elementary school Gerlenhofen, Neu-Ulm

2003  Design of the glass wall of arms in the armorial hall of the State Parliament of Rhineland-Palatinate (together with Michael Post)

2005  Platon,Design of a wall in the foyer of Police Headquarters Westpfalz, Kaiserslautern (together with Michael Post)

2006  Design and realization of a second glass wall of arms in the State Parliament of Rhineland-Palatinate, Salle d’Amitié  (arms of the partner cities and regions of Rhineland-Palatinate, with Michael Post)
