Our notion of space is essentially influenced by our notion of surface and vice versa; i.e. surface and space define each other, cannot be imagined separately from each other. In addition, there is light and colour, which emotionally charge and challenge our perception.
In my artistic work I am particularly interested in the “border zone” between surface, space and colour: when does a surface become spatial and when does a body become planar? And what role does colour play in this?
The means are given to me: Line – surface – space – light – colour.
